For pipeline route measurement in non excavation pipe jacking construction, conventional electromagnetic pipeline instruments, ground penetrating radar and other instruments are limited by electromagnetic interference, pipeline material, pipeline burial depth and many other factors, which can easily lead to unsuccessful or discontinuous measurement, unable to obtain a complete three-dimensional posture trajectory of the pipeline, and low construction efficiency. Especially in the measurement application of river crossing pipelines, these instruments are at a loss. The pipeline 3D attitude measurement instrument based on the principle of inertial measurement obtains its motion trajectory through professional calculation of physical information such as angular velocity, inclination angle, acceleration, etc. during its operation. As long as its motion trajectory coincides with the pipeline, the 3D attitude of the pipeline distribution underground can be obtained. It is not affected by external electromagnetic and pipeline material, burial depth and other factors, and the measurement is continuous with high measurement accuracy.

site conditions

The tested gas pipeline is a medium pressure natural gas pipeline connection project of a gas company in Fujian. The pipeline material is 20 # 3PE reinforced anti-corrosion steel pipe with a diameter of 610, and the pipeline length is 735 meters. According to the directional measurement results during construction, the pipeline has a diving depth of more than 30 meters.

measurement process

Based on the on-site situation, we have prepared a set of DT-GXY-200 mainframe, a set of GNSS RTK auxiliary measurement equipment suitable for centerline positioning at both ends of the pipeline, 2 electric winches, and 4 engineering surveyors. We conducted 3 round trips for measurement (actual demand only requires 1-2 times), which took 1.5 hours (traction speed of about 1m/s).

Measurement data analysis

Calculated at 3-meter intervals, the total length of the pipeline is 733.98m (related to the sampling point spacing), with a burial depth of 31.38m. The trajectory lines of the three measurements are basically consistent, and the maximum spatial spacing between the three trajectory lines is 2.52 meters, which basically meets the nominal accuracy of the instrument. From the comparison of three measurements, it can be seen that due to the fact that the inertial measurement unit is a gravity sensitive element, and the time deviation (heading deviation increases with time) is significant, the impact on the instrument during the traction process should be minimized as much as possible. Secondly, within the allowable traction speed range, the measurement time should be shortened as much as possible, especially for long-distance pipelines.
